For a group of people a good food is food that comes from plants and animals that are common to eat. But for some countries to eat unique and impressed disgusting it becomes a food ingredient, the unique is not a bit of a fond of this food. In Asia itself precisely in Thailand is famous for some of her food that seemed unique and extreme. But for a group of people who are extreme food enthusiasts it is a variation of food that is worth a try.

If usually cockroaches, grasshoppers to silkworms into groceries, then what about this one is a giant spider or also known as Tarantula. Surely many people are disgusted even to see or collapse. In Cambodia this giant spider country is actually used as the main food for the people there. This habit has been done for decades, like making strange insects as food.


Because of the large number of tarantula sellers who are at the crossroads of Antata Phnom Penh and also in Siem Reap the area is dubbed the Spiderville. Yet it is these peculiarities that become the center of attraction of the region itself.

The inhabitants of the area have been accustomed to consuming insects since 1970, at that time Trantula's population of animals is abundant, while they are faced with famine that occurred during the Khmer Red government and indirectly forced its citizens to eat the spider.

Usually they fry dry and seasoned, also usually served along with rice or noodles. Because of the popular sangking area there is a tarantula statue that serve as a culinary icon in place.
